To make the futons, we use many layers of cotton filling, piling layer after layer to the center of the futon repeatedly. Feels like a dream and smells of nature

I firstly want to comment on the customer service. For several days, I talked to Valery who helped me determine exactly what I wanted and needed in my futon set, including colors and fabric types. She was very kind and helpful and I feel as though I've made a friend.

I requested extra stuffing for my futon so I got the max option which was + 50% cotton. It is very soft and pillowy as a result, and I hope the earthy hay-like smell of the cotton never fades. This will, however, make it bulkier and harder to move, though not at all impossible on your own. If you only plan on using it on occasion like I do, though, moving it won't be too much of an issue.

The single is a perfect size for one person and a cat or two. I have enjoyed meditating on it at night. It is very cooling and doesn't cause me to feel overheated. Overall, I recommend you shop here for an authentic at-home Japanese experience.

Beautiful, Comfortable, Worth It

I went back and forth for weeks on whether or not to commit to a shiki futon, and I'm so glad I finally did. It's not a dense slab like American style futons, but a lighter, comfier pad. I used it as a topper for an uncomfortable mattress for a few weeks and instead of waking to toss and turn every few hours I was finally able to sleep more soundly through the night. I also tried it as a topper for an air mattress and it made that experience more comfortable as well. I haven't tried it by itself on the floor yet, but I am more than happy with it as a mattress topper. I ordered the semi-double size, which is a bit wider than an American twin and fits well inside twin-sized sheets. From ordering to arrival I only waited about a month, and it has been well worth it. The fabric and overall make of the futon is beautifully done.

Perfect Futon! HIGHLY Recommend!

I wish I could send some freshly baked cookies and a card back to this company however this Shiki Futon is the best thing to happen to my house!
