Hada Kake Futon Blanket
The Kake Futon is a traditional Japanese comforter designed to gently drape over the body during sleep. Choose between two seasonal styles:
Kake Futon (掛け布団)
Generously filled for cozy warmth, featuring a slightly thicker feel and a grounding weight for cold winter nights.
Hada Kake Futon (肌掛け布団)
A thinner, lightweight option built for versatility. Use it on its own from spring through autumn, or layer it with your winter futon for extra insulation during freezing weather.

Size Guide
Our hada kake futon blankets are available in three standard Japanese sizes: Single, Semi-Double, and Double.
Traditionally, futon sizes are measured by the dimensions of the outer fabric casing before the inner filling is added. Accordingly, the sizes listed on our online store refer to the casing dimensions prior to filling, and the completed futon will be slightly smaller once stuffed.
Single: W150xL210cm
Semi-Double: W170xL210cm
Double: W190xL210cm
Size with a Story
Only our summer futon blanket is available in a special compact size measuring 120x160cm (47"x63"), which is roughly 5/8 the size of a standard Japanese single kake futon comforter (150x210cm / 59"x82").
Before air conditioners and electric fans existed, this compact size was cherished in Japan for its practical design. On hot summer nights, people would stretch their arms and legs out to stay cool while keeping only their midsection covered.

Another wonderful feature of the "5/8" is its versatility:
- Lengthwise (Vertical / 160cm Long): Gently drapes over your body while remaining lightweight and compact. Perfect for cooler nights or air-conditioned rooms.
- Widthwise (Horizontal / 120cm Long): Softly covers your stomach while letting heat escape through your arms and feet. Ideal for those nights when it's not quite hot enough for air conditioning, but too chilly to sleep completely uncovered.
