Specially designed at a compact 120x160cm, this futon embodies ancestral wisdom. It is perfectly sized to keep your core warm while allowing your arms and legs to rest outside the cover, naturally regulating your body temperature for a restful night's sleep. For those who still prefer the cozy, tucked-in feeling of a full-sized blanket, we also offer a standard 150x210cm size so you can enjoy the best of both worlds.

The "Crespo" Difference Crafted from our premium "Crespo" fabric, this futon features a specialized weave that creates a uniquely textured, crinkled surface called Shibo. By reducing the surface area that directly touches your skin, Shibo maximizes breathability and airflow.

Washing: Machine wash at or below 30°C using a very gentle cycle.
*Always use a laundry mesh bag when washing.

Drying: Do not tumble dry.

Drying: Line dry in the shade.
Ironing
Ironing: Iron at a maximum temperature of 160°C (medium heat).
Dry Cleaning
Dry Cleaning: Professional dry cleaning is permitted using petroleum solvents.
Wet Cleaning
Wet Cleaning: Very gentle professional wet cleaning is permitted.
Important Note on Detergents
For natural (ecru) or light-colored fabrics, we recommend using non-fluorescent detergents. Detergents containing optical brighteners (fluorescent agents) may cause the color to change or look unnaturally pale/bluish.
### How to Use
  • No Cover Required: This product is completely washable and can be used without a cover or sheet.
  • Fiber Shedding: You may occasionally notice small stuffing fibers pushing through the fabric surface. Please do not use adhesive lint rollers or tape to remove them, as this can pull more fibers out. Instead, carefully snip any loose fibers off with a pair of scissors.
### How to Dry
  • Drying Conditions: Dry the product in a well-ventilated, shaded area on a clear, dry day. Hang it for about 2 hours on each side, ideally between 10:00 AM and 3:00 PM.
  • Hanging & Shaping: Pat the product gently to redistribute any shifted filling, then drape it over two parallel clotheslines or rods to dry completely.
  • Important: Avoid beating or hitting the product forcefully, as this can damage the outer fabric and the filling.

Our carefully selected fabric called "Crespo" is woven with special techniques to make irregular crinkles (Shibo in Japanese) on the surface. Due to this unevenness on the surface, the area where the fabric touches our skin is reduced.

Takaokaya Summer Futon is made with our carefully selected fabric called "Crespo“. This unique fabric is woven with special techniques to create irregular crinkles and folds (Shibo in Japanese) on the surface. Due to unevensurface of the fabric, it has less contact area with the skin, providing greater ventilation.

Also, “Crespo” has excellent moisture wicking power, cooling the body down quickly for a comfortable night’s rest during summer.

Another reason that makes “Crespo” unique is that the cotton yarns are dyed first, using only natural colour pigmentations extracted from the petals, stems, seeds, fruits, roots, etc. of dried and preserved plants, before the fabric is woven.

Our summer futon is 120 x 160 cm. This size is smaller than the normal futon's size (150 x 210 cm). Due to its size, if we use our futon horizontally, we can put our arms and legs out from the futon to keep our body cooler.

Size with reason

Our summer futon is 120 x 160 cm. This size is smaller than the normal futon's size (150 x 210 cm). Due to its size, if we use our futon horizontally, we can put our arms and legs out from the futon to keep our body cooler, but not make our belly cooler by covering it with a futon. But from our overseas customers' voice, we make normal futon size, too this time. Please choose the size suitable for your sleeping environment.

We use 50% Polyester and 50% Lyocell for the inner filling. This material is very light. You can wash it by laundry machine at home.

WHY SO COMFORTABLE? - POINT 3 -

To keep the futon light and comfortable, we use 100% Polyester for the inner filling.
This Summer Futon is also machine washable. Simply put the futon into a laundry bag/net before putting to the machine to wash with gentle detergent.

Cancellation, Returns and Exchanges

We normally do not accept cancellation, unless under special and with prior written communication which must occur under 24-48 hours after purchasing the product. Returns and Exchanges cannot be accepted except in the case of a wrong shipment. Once purchased, no product may be returned because of the purchaser's personal preferences.

We kindly ask that all valid returns must be in unused condition with attached tags and packaging. Takaoka Futon Co., Ltd. will not accept any returned merchandise without prior written communication.

In case of returns and exchanges due to the wrong shipment, a communication between customer and Takaoka Futon Co., Ltd. should be held to discuss a solution. If any matters of liability arise, the matter will be dealt with and settled between Takaoka Futon Co., Ltd. and the customer directly. The terms and conditions of the respective seller will apply and be the basis of the discussions.

All shipping rates that are used by Takaokaya are determined by the shipping provider. Takaokaya have no authority in controlling how much shipping fee is charged by the shipping providers.
