For countries who are experiencing the shipping ban under EMS, we will be able to ship your order via DHL instead! Requests your shipping fee quotation today through our contact form! 

 

Shipping Partners:

Takaokaya ships most orders via EMS (Express Mail Service by Japan Post). For oversized packages, countries with shipping limitation and for customers requiring faster delivery, we use DHL. The system will automatically reflect the shipper and the most economical cost cost at checkout.

 

Customs Duties and Taxes:

Goods ordered from Takaokaya and delivered within Japan will be subject to mandatory 10% consumption tax (similar to Goods and Services Tax), and will be collected by Takaokaya when checking out. Local taxes in Japan does not apply for orders shipped overseas.

Goods ordered from Takaokaya for international deliveries (outside of Japan), may be subject to customs and import duties, taxes, and/or fees charged by the authorities of the country of delivery. 

By ordering from Takaokaya, you acknowledge that you are responsible for paying any customs duties and taxes incurred, as well as for the import clearance of the products shipped outside of Japan.

Takaokaya DOES NOT collect any monies related to duties, taxes and/or fees that might be charged by authories of the country of delivery.

You also agree to not hold Takaokaya responsible for any delays or any charges incurred due to customs clearance in the country of delivery. You will be the person responsible in liasing with the authories of the country of delivery for import clearance.

For further information on customs duties and taxes due in your country, please contact your local authorities to check. Takaokaya does not have any information regarding import policies.

 

The Shipping Process:
  1. Shipping costs will be calculated in accordance with the total weight of your order at checkout. 
  2. You will receive a confirmation email with the order detail.
  3. The package maybe tracked when the order has been shipped out from our headquarter. 
 
Shiki Futon Shipping Process:
Depending on the countries for delivery and package size limitations, we will be using EMS and DHL interchangeably when delivering the Shiki Futon Mattress,  taking into consideration the best shipping rates and the integrity of the Shiki Futon Mattresses when our customers receive them.

For Shiki Futon Mattresses that are shipped via DHL, they will be subjected to a light vacuum packing to ensure a more reasonable fee. To read more click here

 

 

 

How long will it take? 

Although we try our best to ensure packages are delivered in a timely manner, shipping times may vary depending on the destination. Once a package is shipped out, we have no control over the length of time it will take to arrive. We also have no control over any delays due to custom clearance procedures by your country’s customs office. By placing an order with us, you accept the risk that your package may be delayed during shipment for these reasons.

 

Other Shipping Methods?

Takaokaya will also be shipping orders via other carriers (UPS, DHL, FedEx)* on a special request basis. Please email us at intl@takaoka-kyoto.jp to arrange for specialized shipping.

*Using other shipping method options might cause the shipping rate and time of delivery to vary depending on the other carriers rules and regulations. 

 

Cancellation, Refunds & Returns:

As all of our products are all made-to-order, we DO NOT accept any form of cancellations, refunds or returns for the products that has been purchased.

Unless under special circumstances and with prior written communication within 24-48 hours after purchasing the product/s. Returns and Exchanges WILL NOT be accepted except in the case of a wrong shipment. Once purchased, no product may be returned because of the purchaser's personal preferences.

We kindly ask that all valid returns to be in unused condition with attached tags and packaging. Takaoka Futon Co., Ltd. will not accept any returned merchandise without prior written communication.

In case of returns and exchanges due to the wrong shipment, a communication between customer and Takaoka Futon Co., Ltd. should be held to discuss a solution. If any matters of liability arise, the matter will be dealt with and settled between Takaoka Futon Co., Ltd. and the customer directly. The terms and conditions of the respective seller will apply and be the basis of the discussions.
