If my purchased products not customized, will I receive it faster?
All of our products are made-to-order, the making process does not change even if the products are not customized. The making process timeline will be the same.
Can you do custom size products?
Yes we can! Almost all of our products are customizable.
From size, fabric color/pattern, amount of stuffing, etc. can be adjusted according to your preferences.

How thick is your Shiki Futon Mattress?
Please note that with a shiki futon it is difficult to measure an exact size, because the height and length is very much affected by how fluffy the cotton filling is.
The cotton's fluffiness on the other hand is affected cotton's environment and humidity.
However, as a general
answer for the Shiki Futon Mattress we can say that the thickness is about 13-15 cm, and for the Shiki Futon Mattress Topper is about 8-10 cm, depending on the product's size.
How long will the making process takes?
The timeline of our making process generally depends on how busy our workshop is. We normally require a time allowance of 2-4 weeks for the making process completion.

Why are you shipping so expensive?
All Takaokaya products are made in a very specific way in order to provide the desired shape and quality that we are looking for.
All our fillings are put in and carefully layered by hand. When shipping them, they have to be handled with care in order to preserve the shape and integrity of the product,
As our president would say, we ship our product along with the Japanese air that`s inside them. We try our best to not squish or flatten our products whenever possible (with the exception of the shiki futon mattress).
Often times our shipping are more costly due to this reason. We have to send the product as is, without being able to compact.
Lastly, all shipping rates are set by the shipping providers and all shipping fee calculations are done using the calculation system we receive from the shipping providers.
How long does a Shiki Futon Mattress normally last?
The answer will really depend on the users preferences. There are technically no time frame where the shiki futon suddenly becomes unusable.
With use the shiki futon the cotton inside will naturally lose it's volume. How fast this will happen depends on the users body anatomy and the frequency of use.
The lost of volume does not render the shiki futon unusable It just means that it might not be as fluffy as a freshly made shiki futon mattress.
Some people who prefer a fluffy shiki futon might want to change to a new one at this point, but others who actually prefer a sturdier feel might want to continue enjoying their shiki futon.
