A Harmonious Cushion Set for Zazen
In zazen and meditation practice, it is common to use two cushions together. One is a smaller cushion that gently lifts the hips, helping the body settle into an upright and balanced posture with ease. The other is placed beneath it, softly cushioning the points of contact with the floor and easing pressure on the legs when sitting cross-legged—allowing you to remain comfortable, even during longer periods of stillness.
We have brought these two elements together as a harmonious set: our Ojami Cushion, our signature kangu, paired with the Kyoto Zabuton Cushion, a traditional Japanese floor cushion. Together, they offer a sense of grounded stability and gentle comfort throughout your practice.
For the Ojami Cushion, you may combine a solid color with our popular Aizome-fu fabric, inspired by the timeless beauty of indigo dye (aizome, 藍染め) and recreated through traditional Japanese patterns. The Zabuton Cushion is available in a selection of simple, elegant solid colors.
This set is also used in well-known temples in Kyoto for Zen meditation practice, quietly supporting moments of mindfulness and reflection.

Washing
- Do not wash at home. This item is not suitable for home laundering.
- Spot Cleaning: For minor stains, gently dab the area with a damp cloth as soon as possible. Avoid rubbing harshly, as this may cause the color to bleed or fade.
- Professional Cleaning: If deep cleaning is necessary, please consult a professional cleaner specializing in futons or heavy bedding.
Drying
- Sun drying is possible. However, please be aware that dark-colored items may fade if exposed to direct sunlight for extended periods.
Storage
- Store in a well-ventilated area. * Before long-term storage, we recommend drying the item in the sun to remove any lingering moisture.
- Moisture Prevention: Cotton filling is sensitive to humidity. To prevent moisture buildup and mold, do not store in airtight plastic bags. Instead, use a breathable material such as a non-woven fabric bag.
