What started as a simple goal—to create the ultimate relaxation cushion for adults—turned into something much more meaningful.
While we originally designed the 100cm Senbei Zabuton for Father's Day, our customers showed us its true potential. After a friend of our president used it as a dedicated nap space for their grandchild, we realized we had created the perfect haven for little ones.
Named after the well-loved Japanese rice cracker, the round "Senbei" cushion is as versatile as your imagination. Use it for lounging in front of the TV, as a cozy meditation corner companion, a safe floor playmat for your baby, or even a luxury bed for your furry friends.
There are no boundaries when it comes to Kutsurogi (true relaxation). Designed for babies, adults, and everyone in between—let’s relax more, together.

Cushion Insert: 100% Cotton
*The white fabric used for the cushion insert is known as kibata. Its unique color is achieved naturally during the hot water washing process, without the use of any dyes or bleach. You may notice small black dots on the surface; these are natural particles of the cotton flower. They are completely harmless and do not affect the quality or performance of the product.

This set features a cotton-filled product (cushion / futon insert) with a removable cover made by cotton. To ensure its longevity, please follow these care instructions:
Washing
- Do not wash at home. This item is not suitable for home laundering.
- Spot Cleaning: For minor stains, gently dab the area with a damp cloth as soon as possible. Avoid rubbing harshly, as this may damage the fabric.
- Professional Cleaning: If deep cleaning is necessary, please consult a professional cleaner specializing in futons or heavy bedding.
Drying
- Sun drying is possible. However, please be aware that dark-colored items may fade if exposed to direct sunlight for extended periods.
Storage
- Store in a well-ventilated area. Before long-term storage, we recommend drying the item in the sun to remove any lingering moisture.
- Moisture Prevention: Cotton filling is sensitive to humidity. To prevent moisture buildup and mold, do not store in airtight plastic bags. Instead, use a breathable material such as a non-woven fabric bag.
Please refer to the care label with laundry symbols sewn inside before washing. Detailed explanations for each symbol are provided below:
Washing: Machine wash at or below 30°C using a very gentle cycle.
Bleaching: Do not bleach.
Drying: Do not tumble dry.
Drying: Line dry in the shade.
Ironing: Iron at a maximum temperature of 160°C (medium heat).
Dry Cleaning: Professional dry cleaning is permitted using petroleum solvents.
Wet Cleaning: Very gentle professional wet cleaning is permitted.
Important Note on Detergents
For natural (ecru) or light-colored fabrics, we recommend using non-fluorescent detergents. Detergents containing optical brighteners (fluorescent agents) may cause the color to change or look unnaturally pale/bluish.

Interestingly, our original target audience was actually "fathers." We initially introduced it as a Father's Day gift, hoping dads could use it to roll around and unwind in a spacious, comfortable spot.
However, everything changed when we began receiving photos and glowing reviews from our customers. They shared how absolutely perfect the cushion was for their babies' naps. Inspired by their feedback, we began promoting it as a dedicated children's nap mat.
Today, it has become Takaokaya’s most popular product—even though it wasn’t originally designed for babies at all! Whether it's a baby or an adult lying down, the cushion feels so wonderful that it naturally brings a smile to everyone's face. We offer three design styles: One Color (Single Color), Two-Tone (half-and-half), and Reversible (top and bottom). For the Two-Tone and Reversible options, you can select any two colors or patterns from our cotton fabric collection. Choose the perfect combination to match your space and mood, and elevate your personal experience.
Opening
The back of the cover features an opening for inserting the inner cushion.If you select a Reversible design with a combination of a pattern and a solid color, we recommend placing the pattern on the front.This is because if a patterned fabric is used on the back, the pattern will not perfectly align at the center where the fabrics overlap.
