The Round Zabuton Cushion is a different take on the traditional Japanese square zabuton Cushion. The Round Zabuton's plump shape provides a wonderful cushion for not only floor sitting but also as a companion while sitting on a sofa. Its unique look is a fusion of traditional craftsmanship and modern interior.

This set includes a cushion insert and cover. The cover is removable and machine-washable for easy care.
The white fabrice used for the cushion insert is known as kibata. Its unique color is achieved naturally during the hot water washing process, without the use of any dyes or bleach. You may notice small black dots on the surface; these are natural particles of the cotton flower. They are completely harmless and do not affect the quality or performance of the product.
The water-repellent finish is applied to the cushion insert only, not the cover.

It not only determines the comfort level of the finished zabuton, but it also ensures the product maintains its shape and integrity, even with frequent use. Because the center of the zabuton bears the most weight, our skilled craftsmen intentionally add extra filling there. Deeply invested in the longevity of their creations, they ensure that each piece remains just as comfortable years from now. This level of comfort and relaxation cannot be replicated by machines. It only comes from a craftsman's years of experience and the care that goes into "thinking of the user's comfort."

What remains unseen is where the most time is spent. It is this devotion to the hidden details that transforms a zabuton into something truly special—a place where the body settles, the mind softens, and true Kutsurogi (relaxation) begins.

Design Options

We offer three design styles: One Color (Single Color), Two-Tone (half-and-half), and Reversible (top and bottom). For the Two-Tone and Reversible options, you can select any two colors or patterns from our cotton fabric collection. Choose the perfect combination to match your space and mood, and elevate your personal experience.

Opening

The back of the cover features an opening for inserting the inner cushion. If you select a Reversible design with a combination of a pattern and a solid color, we recommend placing the pattern on the front. This is because if a patterned fabric is used on the back, the pattern will not perfectly align at the center where the fabrics overlap.

Colors and Patterns

The dyeing process of our solid-colored fabric, also known as Murazome, is crafted with a unique method. The original color is meticulously stripped from the fabric before new colors are layered on. This process creates an exquisite, subtly uneven texture that gives each fabric a deeply refined character. In addition to these textured solids, we offer a rich variety of designs, including traditional Japanese patterns, featuring over 50 different colors and styles. Whether for a specific project or personal preference, you’re sure to find your perfect piece.
