In Japan, welcoming guests with a Zabuton (a traditional floor cushion) is a deeply rooted custom. It is a beautiful expression of Omotenashi—the traditional spirit of hospitality. By offering a comfortable place to sit, we warmly invite our guests to relax and truly enjoy their time with us.
Because of this heritage, Zabuton were long thought of in Japan as items reserved strictly for guests. In truth, however, they are incredibly versatile pieces designed to bring everyday comfort and freedom into your home.
A Zabuton is perfect for hosting, but it is just as wonderful as your own personal relaxation companion. When friends gather, you can simply lay a few down to instantly create a cozy, intimate seating area without needing extra chairs.

Personalize your zabuton
Design Options
We offer three design styles: One Color (Single Color), Two-Tone (half-and-half), and Reversible (top and bottom). For the Two-Tone and Reversible options, you can select any two colors or patterns from our cotton fabric collection. Choose the perfect combination to match your space and mood, and elevate your personal experience.
*Please note:The back of the Zabuton features a central opening used for stuffing the cotton inside. If you select a Reversible design that combines a pattern with a solid color, we highly recommend placing the pattern on the front. If a patterned fabric is used on the back, the pattern may not perfectly align at the center seam where the fabrics meet.
Colors and Patterns
The dyeing process of our solid-colored fabric, also known as Murazome, is crafted with a unique method. The original color is meticulously stripped from the fabric before new colors are layered on. This process creates an exquisite, subtly uneven texture that gives each fabric a deeply refined character. In addition to these textured solids, we offer a rich variety of designs, including traditional Japanese patterns, featuring over 50 different colors and styles. Whether for a specific project or personal preference, you’re sure to find your perfect piece.
