What started as a simple goal—to create the ultimate relaxation cushion for adults—turned into something much more meaningful.
While we originally designed the 100cm Senbei Zabuton for Father's Day, our customers showed us its true potential. After a friend of our president used it as a dedicated nap space for their grandchild, we realized we had created the perfect haven for little ones.
Today, it is a staple in homes for:
- Rest: The perfect spot for afternoon naps.
- Care: A soft, clean surface for diaper changes and dressing.
- Play: A spacious mat for tummy time and toys.
The best part? It’s large enough for parents to join in. As your child grows, this cushion remains a comfortable place for the whole family to relax and recharge.
- This set includes a cushion insert and cover. The cover is removable and machine-washable for easy care.
- The white textile used for the cushion insert is known as kibata. Its unique color is achieved naturally during the hot water washing process, without the use of any dyes or bleach. You may notice small black dots on the surface; these are natural particles of the cotton flower. They are completely harmless and do not affect the quality or performance of the product.
- Water-repellent finish included (applied to the cushion insert only).

This set features a cotton-filled product (cushion / futon insert) with a removable cover made by cotton. To ensure its longevity, please follow these care instructions:
Washing
- Do not wash at home. This item is not suitable for home laundering.
- Spot Cleaning: For minor stains, gently dab the area with a damp cloth as soon as possible. Avoid rubbing harshly, as this may damage the fabric.
- Professional Cleaning: If deep cleaning is necessary, please consult a professional cleaner specializing in futons or heavy bedding.
Drying
- Sun drying is possible. However, please be aware that dark-colored items may fade if exposed to direct sunlight for extended periods.
Storage
- Store in a well-ventilated area. Before long-term storage, we recommend drying the item in the sun to remove any lingering moisture.
- Moisture Prevention: Cotton filling is sensitive to humidity. To prevent moisture buildup and mold, do not store in airtight plastic bags. Instead, use a breathable material such as a non-woven fabric bag.
Please refer to the care label with laundry symbols sewn inside before washing. Detailed explanations for each symbol are provided below:
Washing: Machine wash at or below 30°C using a very gentle cycle.
Bleaching: Do not bleach.
Drying: Do not tumble dry.
Drying: Line dry in the shade.
Ironing: Iron at a maximum temperature of 160°C (medium heat).
Dry Cleaning: Professional dry cleaning is permitted using petroleum solvents.
Wet Cleaning: Very gentle professional wet cleaning is permitted.
Important Note on Detergents
For natural (ecru) or light-colored fabrics, we recommend using non-fluorescent detergents. Detergents containing optical brighteners (fluorescent agents) may cause the color to change or look unnaturally pale/bluish.

How It Became "Your Child's Very First Comfort"
The Story
It all started when we reimagined the traditional square Japanese cushion into a new, round shape. Driven by a pure passion from our artisans—"We want to create a bigger cushion where people can truly spread out and relax!"—the Senbei Zabuton was born.
Interestingly, our original target was actually "fathers." We initially introduced it as a Father's Day gift, hoping dads could use it to roll around and decompress in a spacious, comfortable spot.
However, a single event was about to dramatically alter the destiny of the Senbei Zabuton. It arrived in the form of a lone photograph sent by a friend of our company president...
"Perfect for My Grandchild's Naps!"
This is the very photo we received back then (taken in 2011).
They shared with us how incredibly helpful it was whenever their grandchild came to visit, because it instantly created a cozy spot for a nap. This entirely new way of using the cushion was discovered purely by our customers. As creators, it was something we had never even imagined. And just like that, our 100-cm diameter "Senbei Zabuton" transformed into a beloved space for children to relax.
Today, it serves so many purposes: from naps and diaper changes to dressing after bath time, or even as a playmat. And because it was originally designed for adults to unwind, your child can continue to use and love it even as they grow up.

Design Options
We offer three design styles: One Color (Single Color), Two-Tone (half-and-half), and Reversible (top and bottom). For the Two-Tone and Reversible options, you can select any two colors or patterns from our cotton fabric collection. Choose the perfect combination to match your space and mood, and elevate your personal experience.
Opening
The back of the cover features an opening for inserting the inner cushion. If you select a Reversible design with a combination of a pattern and a solid color, we recommend placing the pattern on the front. This is because if a patterned fabric is used on the back, the pattern will not perfectly align at the center where the fabrics overlap.
