Ojami Kids - Cotton
Gentle Support for Learning, Play, and Relaxation
Ojami Kids was created from a heartfelt wish to support children’s growth by bringing comfort into their everyday moments—whether they are sitting and happily drawing, enjoying a snack, or reading a favorite book.
The “Gaku” Cushion is an enlarged version of our original Cojami Zafu Pillow, designed to provide stable and comfortable seating for children. The “Shu” Cushion, on the other hand, is a smaller, child-friendly version of our classic Ojami Cushion, thoughtfully resized to perfectly suit little bodies.
Together, these cushions gently support learning, play, and relaxation, turning everyday sitting into a more comfortable and enjoyable experience for kids.

Hand wash only (Max 40°C): You may hand wash this item at a water temperature of 40°C (104°F) or cooler.
*Special Care for Tassels: If your product has decorative tassels (房), please handle them with care as they may break or come loose during washing. Even if a tassel is damaged or lost, the product remains safe to use. - Do not bleach. / Do not iron. / Do not dry clean.
- Very gentle professional wet cleaning is permitted.
- Do not tumble dry.

Hang dry in the shade: After washing, moisture tends to remain trapped inside the pipes. Please remove excess water thoroughly—for example, by wrapping the product in a towel and shaking it gently. Then, we recommend hanging the item to dry in a shaded, well-ventilated area.
*For Heavier Items: If your product is heavy due to a large volume of pipe filling, please ensure it is supported properly when hanging to avoid putting too much stress on the fabric or seams.
Washing
- Do not wash at home. This item is not suitable for home laundering.
- Spot Cleaning: For minor stains, gently dab the area with a damp cloth as soon as possible. Avoid rubbing harshly, as this may cause the color to bleed or fade.
- Professional Cleaning: If deep cleaning is necessary, please consult a professional cleaner specializing in futons or heavy bedding.
Drying
- Sun drying is possible. However, please be aware that dark-colored items may fade if exposed to direct sunlight for extended periods.
Storage
- Store in a well-ventilated area. Before long-term storage, we recommend drying the item in the sun to remove any lingering moisture.
- Moisture Prevention: Cotton filling is sensitive to humidity. To prevent moisture buildup and mold, do not store in airtight plastic bags. Instead, use a breathable material such as a non-woven fabric bag.

A cube-shaped cushion with added height, designed to provide a stable and supportive seat. Filled with firm piping, Gaku offers a solid sitting feel that helps children sit comfortably and with confidence.

The girl in the photo is 3 years old. Sitting on the Gaku cushion feels natural and comfortable—similar to sitting on a small child’s chair. The low table shown is about 30 cm in height.

With mixed filling, Shu feels gentle and comfortable to sit on. The urethane inner core helps provide added support when seated.

Compared to Gaku, the Shu cushion has a wider seating surface, allowing the child to sit comfortably with proper balance.He is shown sitting in a seiza-style position, with his hips well supported on the cushion. Each Kangu from Takaokaya is handcrafted by our team of Shokunin (職人), skilled craftsmen and women who carry knowledge and techniques passed down through generations. In our Kyoto studio, we devote ourselves wholeheartedly to creating Kutsurogi — true relaxation.
