This pillow is the perfect napping companion. who prefers a more natural stuffing for their pillow. With a clever design that allows you to adjust the height of the pillow just by adjusting the ties on each side.

Personalised and Customized

Takaokaya's cotton fabric collection. The dyeing process of our solid-colored fabric which can be referred to as Murazome fabrics is done with a unique method. We also have japanese pattern and nordic style.
From solid colours to prints and patterns, Takaokaya offers a wide selection of cotton fabric for your gorone nap futon cover. Take your pick! Have fun selecting your favourites.
We have 2 designs for gorone nap futon. First is two-tone. You can select 2 colors for left and right side. Second is reversible. You can select 2 colors for front and back.
We believe in making sleeping fun. Choose to have your Gorone Nap Futon in 2 tones (different fabric used on left and right) or revisable (different fabric used for top and bottom).

  • All made by hand

    Every product is lovingly handcrafted by experienced craftsmen using skills and techniques passed down for generations with pride for over 100 years.

  • Cutting

    Every piece is done by the steady hands of the craftsmen. Getting this process right is very important as it determines the outcome of the final product.

  • sewing

    Creating the outer shell of each product is no mean feat. Our craftsmen have to ensure that each piece is not only sewn at the right angles and made to the right proportions but also aesthetically pleasing to the eye.

  • Stuffing

    We place great emphasis on and take extreme care during the stuffing process because it determines the comfort level as well as the longevity of the finished products.

  • Finishing

    At the end of the production process, striking the cushion is essential. This step is done to make sure that the cotton filling spreads evenly. Middle stitches are applied to the center of the cushions to keep the cotton filling in place.

Outstanding quality

The fabric is beautiful and the overall quality is flawless. The mattress is quite compact and hence very practical to use. As far as the thickness is concerned, some extra filling may be an interesting option. This being said, it is a nap futon, so essentially meant for short periods of use.

Thank you P for giving the gorone nap futon 5*. Yes, extra filling is indeed an option but it might affect how the futon can be rolled up for storage. I hope the futon has been beneficial for power naps. :)

Excellent quality materials, quite thin even for a Japanese product!

I was overjoyed to see the quality of the fabric covering and the color when the futon arrived. The fill is also like lying on cotton balls and is cloudlike, but even as someone who prefers mattresses considered too thin for American standards, I was left wishing Takaokaya could offer a double-thickness option at a higher price. I will certainly be reaching out to ask about a custom design for my next order as I am totally smitten with the fabrics they use.

For your information, the gorone nap futon is made for naps which is why we deliberately made it in that thickness, so that the users do not oversleep. Also, we want the nap futon to be portable, so if it's thicker, it will not be easy to carry it around.

If you love how the gorone nap futon feels and would like a thicker futon next, you can perhaps consider our Shiki Futon mattress. :) Or speak to us about making a customized futon - you can select the size, thickness and any fabric that we offer on online.
