From the shape, size, and filling of your Kangu to the fabrics, patterns, and hand-finished tassels, nearly every detail can be tailored to bring your unique vision to life—whether you are designing a standout interior piece, crafting a deeply personal gift, or even providing your own textiles. Every project is a collaborative journey and a welcome challenge for Takaokaya; together with our customers, we have co-created everything from custom cushions, bolsters, and bed liners featuring bespoke Takaokaya embroidery to traditional Shitone (the historic origin of the zabuton).

Confirmation & Quotation

Once the customization details are finalized, we will provide a quotation, estimated production timeline, and any additional information by email.

Order & Production Begins

If you are happy with the quotation and details, you may proceed with placing your order and making payment. After confirmation, our artisans will begin handcrafting your unique piece of Kangu, made with care just for you.
  • Please note that acceptance of custom order requests depends on design complexity, production feasibility, material availability, and required production time.
  • We will contact you by email regarding your request, including a quotation and further details. The current estimated production time for custom orders is 14–21 business days.
