I ordered a custom made zabuton cushion with a Hikizome linen cover. As I am personally not a big fan of zippers, I asked about alternatives and the very friendly customer service representative gave me excellent guidance. After around three weeks the cushion arrived and was just like I hoped for. It's quite wonderful to own such an artisinal piece crafted to ones wishes. All in all I'm very happy!
We are so glad we were able to customize something that makes you very happy daily.
Thank you for the 5-star rating for the cushion.
Please enjoy it daily!

The Zabuton (座布団) is a traditional Japanese cushion with nearly 1000 years of history. Originally, the zabuton indicated high status and was only used by a person of high rank. Today it can be found in most Japanese households.
Our Kyoto Zabuton Cushion is made true to the traditions of our unique city but it also has been adapted to provide greater stability and comfort. The Kyoto Zabuton Cushion has also been gaining popularity for meditation use.
Hikizome (引き染め), or directly translated to ‘pull dye’ is a traditional Japanese dye technique in which fabric is stretched tight, water is painted on by hand with a brush creating a blurring effect. This technique is also known as bokashizame, (lit. ‘blur dye’). We have two colors for this Hikizome collection. Both names come from famous sightseeing spots in Kyoto. These will be a great combination with Kyoto zabuton.
