Our carefully selected fabric called "Crespo" is woven with special techniques to make irregular crinkles (Shibo in Japanese) on the surface. Due to this unevenness on the surface, the area where the fabric touches our skin is reduced, so it makes ventilation well.
Also, this fabric absorbs sweat well and dries quickly, you can spend comfortably during the hot and humid summer.
There are unique procedures to make this special fabric. Before making the thread, cotton (material of the thread) is dyed by the latest dyeing method. It is called "watazome" dyeing. To dye the cotton, pigments extracted from the petals, stems, seeds, fruits, roots, etc. of dried and preserved plants are used as dyeing material. By mixing the dyed cotton with undyed cotton and making the thread, it creates the exquisite color tone of natural plants that cannot be created through the normal methods of making fabrics.
We have 2 colors: Gardenia (Green) and Carnation (Pink)
Our summer futon is 120 x 160 cm. This size is smaller than the normal futon's size (150 x 210 cm). Due to its size, if we use our futon horizontally, we can put our arms and legs out from the futon to keep our body cooler, but not make our belly cooler by covering it with a futon. But from our overseas customers' voice, we make normal futon size, too this time. Please choose the size suitable for your sleeping environment.
We use 50% Polyester and 50% Lyocell for the inner filling. This material is very light. So it might not need to worry that the futon enwinds to the body. Due to the inner filling, this futon is washable. In the summertime, we get sweaty during sleep. It is no worries. You can wash it by laundry machine at home. (**Please use laundry (washing) net when you wash)

We normally do not accept cancellation, unless under special and with prior written communication which must occur under 24-48 hours after purchasing the product. Returns and Exchanges cannot be accepted except in the case of a wrong shipment. Once purchased, no product may be returned because of the purchaser's personal preferences.
We kindly ask that all valid returns must be in unused condition with attached tags and packaging. Takaoka Futon Co., Ltd. will not accept any returned merchandise without prior written communication.
In case of returns and exchanges due to the wrong shipment, a communication between customer and Takaoka Futon Co., Ltd. should be held to discuss a solution. If any matters of liability arise, the matter will be dealt with and settled between Takaoka Futon Co., Ltd. and the customer directly. The terms and conditions of the respective seller will apply and be the basis of the discussions.
How is the shipping rate calculated?
All shipping rates that are used by Takaokaya are determined by the shipping provider. Takaokaya have no authority in controlling how much shipping fee is charged by the shipping providers.

Looking back at this exceptionally hot summer with high temperatures reaching far into september, this crespo futon was my best decision. Usually in summer, sleeping with a blanket is too hot for me, sleeping without one too cold. But with the crespo, it’s perfect. Not only is it incredibly soft and has a wonderful feeling to the skin, light like feathers; but it gives the right temperature even with high degrees at night without sweating or freezing. I really love the crespo. Additionally, the color (I choose green) really pleases the eye at day and is like a soft, shallow shadow at night. Aesthetically amazing.
