Earlier this month, I visited the Takaokaya showroom in Kyoto. Did I have the foresight to pre-order before I visited Japan? No way. Did they hook me up anyway with my dream Cojami? Absolutely.
The lovely sales attendant showed me the factory floor, helped me pick out a cushion and cover, and made sure I left with a smile. No detail was overlooked. (Shout out to Takaokaya for recruiting such an incredible international sales team. Support is available in a number of languages, which I thought was so cool!)
When I returned to the hotel, the friends I was traveling with were initially baffled that I would make a purchase requiring me to sacrifice so much suitcase space, but they quickly fell in love. They couldn't stop sitting on it, mushing it, using it as a bolster, tracing the seams. There is something really special about Takaokaya's products, something I haven't seen replicated stateside.
Back in the States, I am so happy with my Cojami. I got the medium size with hard pipe fill, which has been perfect for me. I've been using it for meditation but also just for chilling on the floor. It's also been really helpful for my yin yoga practice--it's firm enough that I can use it as a supportive bolster without worrying about any shifting.
I need an entire Takaokaya house. Great job, y'all. If you open an Atlanta location someday, I will be the first one in the door.
