This 9 episode drama tells the story of 2 teenage best friends Kiyo and Sumire, who dream of becoming maiko (Japanese traditional professional entertainers) but eventually pursued different passions. Sumire showed potential as a maiko but Kiyo didn't make the cut. Instead, she found new talent in cooking and became the makanai (traditional cook) for everyone living in the maiko house.
