Autumn is finally here in Kyoto as the night air turns chilly and crisp. The colored leaves are emerging overnight in different parts of Kyoto and while the Takaokaya team is looking forward to the Momiji (colored leaves) season, today we are excited to introduce two new colors for our cotton fabric collection for Autumn.
Resembling the color of linen fibers, Amairo is part of the Greige color palette. Neutral, versatile and soothing, Amairo is the perfect blend of the cooler and more placid grey with the warm and welcoming beige, and can be paired with cool or warm shades to create stunning spaces.
Inspired by the Queeny Purple Hollyhock, a much-beloved flower in Japan which is rich in symbolism, Aoiiro is a popular color since the Heian period. This traditional light purple with gray undertones radiates elegance and sophisticated beauty, making it ideal for adding a gentle brightness to any room in the house.
While we might launch these colors in Autumn, these two new gorgeous colors can be used for any seasons. We have added them to the color swatch for all our cotton collection Kangu so you can easily select them for your next order! Color your world with comfort today with our handcrafted Kangu!
